This shield is designed to reduce hand exposure when drawing a dose from a shielded vial. Syringe shields provide a 1/8" covered lead flange between the syringe and vial opening. Each syringe shield, with its optically clear HiD® lead glass cylindrical body provides 360° of visibility plus the maximum degree of shielding safety. Units reduce exposure of Tc-99m by 98.4%. They are designed in two separate configurations to accommodate most commercial syringes, including B-Ds Worldwide design.

Dose Drawing Shields With Replaceable Glass
This shield is designed to be more reliable and rugged, including resistance to breaking of the lead glass cylinder. Special material is used as an interface between the metal and the glass. This provides shock absorption, which increases the break resistance of the lead glass cylinder. In the event that the lead cylinder is broken, the glass is easily replaced.
